Research Finds That Weekend Indulgence Is Ok

Eating well on weekdays may be more important to overall weight loss than the occasional weekend splurge, according to research published in the journal Obesity Facts.

Looking at caloric intake during a seven-day cycle, researchers discovered that almost everyone loses weight on weekdays and gains it on weekends. The study also suggests that dieters who show the greatest decrease in weight between Sunday and Friday are more likely to be successful in their diets over time.

And no matter how far you strayed during a weekend indulgence, researchers stress the importance of getting back to the diet on Monday morning.
